Draft biography — awaiting Miguel's approval

Miguel Romão is a motorcycle racer from Albufeira, Portugal.

He began road racing in the Copa Dunlop Motoval, STK 600 class, on a Yamaha R6. He took several podiums, finished championship runner-up and, the following season, dominated the points standings.

After his time in the 600cc class, he stepped up to the premier class on a Yamaha R1 and was named Rookie of the Year. That form took him to the Spanish Superbike Championship (ESBK), one of the most competitive national championships. In the Portuguese Superbike Championship he took several podiums — at tracks such as Estoril and Portimão — and finished the 2024 season 3rd in the overall standings.

He has also raced in Spain, in the Copa de España and the Yamaha R1 Cup — at Jerez he started from pole and won both races of the weekend, the sprint and the long race, completing a perfect weekend — on a path of steady progress against ever more competitive grids. Alongside sprint racing, he has 24-hour endurance racing experience. His results have earned regular coverage in the specialist press, such as MotoJornal magazine and the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation (FMP), as well as local media.

Today, with the continued confidence of the same supporters — Albufeira City Council, the Parish of Ferreiras, Moto Clube de Albufeira, M Concept Home, Elite Racing Team and Romão 29 Automóveis — Miguel keeps racing. Alongside racing, his coaching work is fully professional: in addition to one-to-one and private instruction for riders, he is also an instructor at the Algarve International Circuit.
